JACOB THOMAS

 Three decades in journalism. Engaged with print and electronic media in malayalam and english in several editorial and reporting capacities. Initiated into the profession through KERALA KAUMUDI. Moved on to pioneer the trends in malayalam business journalism by producing DHANAM, Kerala's first business magazine. Then joined with the editorial team of RUBBER ASIA, subcontinent's premier english trade magazine. Outgrew the vernacular press and moved to Delhi. Worked with CURRENT and SUNDAY MAIL in various capacities. Back to Kerala to join the core group to bring out Kerala's homegrown english daily, INDIAN COMMUNICATOR. Moved out to join MADHYAMAM daily. By the turn of century, when electronic journalism began to evolve, associated with a talent group to launch malayalam's only bilingual news channel JEEVAN TV. Headed its bilingual news desk; served as news editor for six years. When malayalam electronic media bloomed into 24x7 format, moved to MANORAMA NEWS. Worked there for sixteen years as principal correspondent and as one of its three regional heads. Essentially bilingual in practice. Fellow traveller of all major emerging trends in journalism. Exponent of ethical media practices. Never deviated from the ethical foundations of the profession. Groomed many young, aspiring journalists in this mould.

RAJEEV SYAMALA

 Rajeev Syamala is academically groomed in digital video production and cinematography. He traversed the stagnant waters of mainstream Malayalam media and eventually bloomed as a short film maker. His strong areas are videos and its post-production. Excels in creation of branded media content. A poet, he steadily experiments with different modes of storytelling. He was a cameraman with MANORAMA NEWS. Associated with the programme production wing of ASIANET. Forayed into media practice through cable chain network ACV. In print media,he reported for MATHRUBHUMI DAILY. Wields well video editing platforms FCP and Adobe premium Pro. His documentary on writer Nanditha, was well received. Rajeev's short film, 'KHARAM' noted for its unorthodox theme and finesse in delineation. Cohesive compositions and skilful crafting of characters are his forte. Rajeev captures the hues and tones of his subject superbly. Watch out for his precise frames and the ephemeral beauty of his composition.

MANOJ MATHIRAPALLY

 Acclaimed author. Authored seven books. Has won several awards both as a journalist and writer. Passionately interested in the production and design of books. Postgraduate level academics in literature and communication. Sustained association with major print and electronic media. Travel writer. Manoj was editorial team member of DEEPIKA and NEW AGE dailies. Served as deputy news editor of JEEVAN TV. Won Kerala Sahithya Academy, Bhasha Institute, Folklore Academy and M S Menon memorial awards for literary works. Manoj won the best farm journalism award instituted by Indian Veterinary Association. Awarded fellowships of Kerala Sahithya Academy and cultural department of Kerala. Directed documentaries, GOTHRATHALAM and MAZHA. Indigenous people and their knowledge power houses are his research area. Reflections on these are his core media practice.
